TECHNICAL STAFF

Ben Tammami, P.E., Founder and President
Began his 29 years of experience in process and heat transfer engineering and equipment specification. As design engineer in charge of heat exchanger division with a major shell and tube and pressure vessel fabricator, Mr. Tammami gained the bulk of his experience in equipment design and manufacturing.
He also has extensive engineering and supervising experience with major oil, engineering and construction firms on several gas,  and  petrochemical projects.  His heat transfer experience includes thousands of shell-and-tube and air cooler design, over 2,800 of which are in operation worldwide. Mr. Tammami has authored several technical papers in heat transfer and fluid flow including publications in Hydrocarbon Processing, Chemical Engineering and Oil & Gas Journal. He has developed number of software including thermal design and cost estimating for shell & tube heat exchangers. He holds a BS degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a member of AIChE, API, heat transfer division of ASME, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas.

Ahmed E. Kassem, P.E.
Dr. Kassem is one of the leading experts in heat transfer. He received his MS degree from University of California at Berkeley and his Ph.D from the University of California at Santa Barbara, both in mechanical engineering with majors in heat transfer, fluid and gas dynamics. His experience includes over 16 years of research, design and computer program development with HTRI* where as a lead he directed two-phase flow research, designed and developed HTRI's 'CST' program. He has held supervisory positions with engineering and construction firms including Bechtel Corp. where he was the head of heat transfer division in their Los Angeles office.
Dr. Kassem is the author of several publications including condenser performance, tube vibrations and fouling of shell and tube exchangers which have been presented in AIChE and ASME symposiums and international heat transfer conferences. He is a registered Professional Engineer in State of California.
